The wine village Wincheringen is a tourist resort on the Upper Moselle with direct access to the bridge connecting it to neighboring Luxembourg and offers with its ideal location a fast connection to Luxembourg City.
The community of Wincheringen represents the largest development area on the border with Luxembourg: “Auf Mont”. It lies on a plateau above the Moselle. Surrounded by an appealing landscape, it offers an attractive view over the Moselle valley. Due to its good connections and infrastructure with kindergarten, school as well as playgrounds and sports fields it is interesting for families and commuters across the border.
On two plots in a hillside situation on the urban planning edge of the new development area, our concept envisages two point houses, which proudly rise over the Moselle valley like polished diamonds and serve as an eye-catcher from the valley side and as a "Gate Auf Mont". In addition, the two multi-family houses offer their residents a panoramic view of the characteristic Moselle landscape. The interplay of window openings and loggias lends the façade an exciting moment.
The "kink in the façade" or "diamond cut", which is based on urban development and architecture, ensures that each individual apartment receives optimal S-W-O exposure and is therefore generously proportioned and flooded with light. The saddle roof supports the overall shape of the building and at the same time serves as a reminiscence of the typical local architecture. Residential units as well as commercial units for quarter-specific small businesses such as bakeries, cafés, fitness facilities etc. are planned for the ground floor.
